Students in the TRiO Upward Bound program at 91ɬÂþ on July 3 conducted a U.S. Supreme Court mock trial of the actual and recent case of Masterpiece Cakeshop v. the Colorado Civil Rights Commission.

Galveston attorney, Doryn Glenn, argued for Masterpiece. 91ɬÂþ Government Instructor Brad Cox argued for Colorado in the case.

91ɬÂþ Upward Bound, a TRIO program funded through the U.S. Department of Education, is a college preparatory program designed to serve 60 9th- through 12th-grade students at Ball High School.

The goal of Upward Bound is to increase the rates at which participants enroll in and graduate from institutions of postsecondary education by increasing the academic performance and motivation of participants.
