91ɬ Director of Facilities, Tracy Morgan, has been named a 2025 Facility Champion by FacilitiesNet, a national publication that honors outstanding leaders in facilities management across the country.

Morgan is one of only eight recipients selected from more than 80 nominees nationwide.

The Facility Champions award recognizes facility leaders who demonstrate excellence, innovation, and measurable impact in the management and advancement of facilities operations. According to FacilitiesNet, this year’s winners represent diverse institutions and “display the leadership qualities and passion for this industry that allows them and their departments to thrive.”

For Morgan, the recognition is both personal and professional validation of the work being done by GC’s Facilities team to enhance campus operations and create a positive environment for students, faculty and staff.

“It’s an incredible honor to be recognized for the work our facilities team does behind the scenes every day to make sure our campus community can thrive,” said Morgan. “Receiving this award, especially after being recognized earlier this year as the TAPPA Facility Manager of the Year, reinforces that our efforts to modernize and improve campus operations are making a meaningful difference.”

Morgan’s leadership has guided several key initiatives at GC, including sustainability improvements, preventive maintenance programs, and enhancements to campus safety and infrastructure. His approach emphasizes proactive planning, staff development, and creating functional, welcoming spaces that support student learning and engagement.

The award also recognizes Morgan’s community impact and service, including his military background, having served in the U.S. Air Force, and his ongoing volunteer work in Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) counseling. He attributes his work ethic to his family and credits his late grandfather, M.C. Morgan, and his wife, Nicole, for their encouragement and support.

“Working in facilities leadership at a growing college is both challenging and inspiring,” said Morgan. “Every day brings new opportunities to solve problems and enhance the campus experience. I take great pride in knowing that our work directly supports student success and the mission of higher education.”

The 2025 Facility Champions will be recognized during the webcast “Decoding the Cycle of FM Innovation and Evolution: A Facility Champions Discussion,” airing Nov. 6 at 12 p.m. on FacilitiesNet.  in advance to view the webcast.

“Tracy’s recognition is well-deserved and reflects his unwavering commitment to excellence, innovation and service,” said GC Vice President for Administration, Van Patterson, Ed.D. “His leadership has had a tremendous and positive impact on our campus community and the college as a whole.”
